Learn with Tahira is a specialist online mathematics tutoring practice. It provides one-to-one mathematics tuition and exam preparation for IGCSE, GCSE, O Level and A Level students, taught entirely online by Ansa Ameer Tahira, MPhil in Mathematics. - What makes the approach different
- The starting point is a Mark Audit rather than a syllabus. Every mark a student loses is classified as one of four causes — knowledge, method, arithmetic or time — and only the first is repaired by teaching the topic again. That is why a capable student can revise for months without the grade moving. From there: mathematics is written out live rather than described, because a student has to see how a full solution is set down; and the mark scheme is taught explicitly, so students learn where method marks sit and what an examiner needs to see.

Ansa Ameer Tahira holds an MPhil in Mathematics. Postgraduate study is not a requirement for teaching IGCSE or A Level, and it is worth being clear about what it actually buys: not harder content, but a deeper understanding of where each school topic sits in the wider structure of the subject — and therefore a better answer when a student asks why a method works.
Over the past seven years she has taught the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel mathematics specifications online to students across several time zones, alongside AP Calculus for students in the US system and the Matric and Intermediate boards. That range matters because it makes the differences between specifications visible: what one board rewards in a written solution, another does not.
Teaching one-to-one over that many hours also produces a pattern. The same handful of causes account for most lost marks, across every board and every ability level — and almost none of them are about mathematical talent.

- An honest assessment
- If a target grade is not realistic in the time remaining, or if tutoring is not what your child needs, you will be told so at the diagnostic stage rather than in results week.
