Who this policy covers

Learn with Tahira is a one-person online mathematics tutoring practice run by Ansa Ameer Tahira. There is no wider organisation, no sales team and no third-party agency handling your details. Enquiries about this policy go to info@learnwithtahira.com.

What we collect, and when

Information is only collected when you actively give it to us:

  • When you book a diagnostic session — parent or guardian name, student name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, the student’s year or grade, the exam board and pathway, the main challenge you selected, your preferred session time, your time zone, the slot you chose, and anything you type into the optional message box.
  • When you use the short enquiry form on the home page or the contact page — the same fields, minus the slot, because that form leads into the booking page.
  • Automatically, for every visitor — standard web analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and which links and buttons were clicked. This is not linked to your name.
  • When you download a worksheet — a count of how many times that file has been downloaded. No personal detail is attached to it.

We do not ask for and never store payment card details. Nothing on this website takes a payment.

Why we hold it

  • To contact you about the session you booked and send the joining link.
  • To prepare the written learning plan, which needs the student’s level and difficulties.
  • To send fortnightly progress reports once tutoring is under way.
  • To answer the question you asked, if you used the contact page.
  • To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate, so the site can be improved.

Your information is only used to respond to your enquiry and to deliver the tutoring you asked about. It is never sold, rented, or passed to advertisers or lead-generation services.

Who else can see it

A small number of technology providers process data on our behalf in order for the site to work:

  • Our web host, which stores the website and its database.
  • Our email provider, which delivers booking confirmations and reminders.
  • WhatsApp, if you choose to message us there. That conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.
  • Zoom, which hosts the live lessons.
  • Google Analytics, which provides the anonymous usage statistics described above.

Nobody else receives your details. We will only disclose information where we are legally required to.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets a session cookie when you use a form, which exists solely to protect the form against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits. If you would rather not be counted, browser privacy settings, an ad blocker, or Google’s own opt-out add-on will all prevent it, and the site works exactly the same either way. Analytics is disabled entirely when the site is run locally for development.

How long it is kept

  • Booking and enquiry records are kept while there is an active tutoring relationship, and for up to two years afterwards so that a returning family’s history is available.
  • Lesson recordings are kept in the student’s vault while they are studying with us, and deleted on request at any time.
  • Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention period.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Email info@learnwithtahira.com and we will action it within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason.

You can also cancel a booking yourself at any time using the management link in your confirmation email, which removes the reserved slot immediately.

Children

Most students are under 18. Bookings are made by a parent or guardian, and it is the parent or guardian whose contact details we hold and correspond with. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child without a parent involved.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes affecting current families will also be emailed.
